GridIron Group was founded by former NFL player, Damian Gregory, in June 2010. The group consists of GridIron G.A.N.G. (Giving Adolescents/Athletes New Goals) and GridIron Institute, both committed to allowing opportunities for the youth to go beyond their limitations in life, while achieving the impossible. The organization allows athletes of the past, present, and future to join forces to help make an impact in the communities they grew up in and across the country. Damian brings NFL experience and leadership to a foundation with sights set on impacting the world through teaching up-and-coming athletes the integrity of sports and how to translate that into real life success.
GridIron Group’s goal is to bring together leaders of today and tomorrow to build a flourishing educational network for communities in need and to enrich the minds and hearts of the youth by using sports as a common ground and education as a foundation.
Speaking to the youth and young adults has long been a passion of everyone involved with GridIron Group. At the youth camps, campers learn football techniques from experienced athletes and highly skilled coaches, as well as team building, sportsmanship, and developing player morale. Not only will they learn football skills, they will also learn valuable life lessons that will hopefully inspire them to achieve their goals and fulfill their dreams.
GridIron G.A.N.G. has hosted past football camps that focused on the fundamentals of football and helped to prepare athletes to excel both on and off the field. Campers are taught to embrace hard work, training, practice, ambition, and drive to further their own goals and aspirations. Influential mentors dedicate their time at each camp in hopes of leaving a lasting impression of what it will take to be successful in life.
As education as the foundation of the organization, GridIron Institute is now focused on building learning centers as well as mentoring workshops and classes. GridIron strongly believes that the youth need educational skills in order to be successful in life, no matter what profession they choose. The idea is to impact the lives of the youth, one child at a time.
